About Us

About Us Rich coffee coloured wood, large graphic pieces of local artwork, dark green leather, amber lighting, white linen and large sun-filled front windows, make up the interior of Bar Corvina. While out on the pavement rests an abundance of seating, including a couple of long, narrow, steel framed communal benches. Combined these features create a dining space that is both sophisticated and homely. Old world charm with a modern edge. A place that reflects the seductive, shimmering personality of St. Kilda.

Schnapper on mushroom, spinach topped with watercress and served with a champaigne sauce And then there's the service. Warm, efficient, capable, willing, knowledgeable and genuine. All fitting ways to describe Corvina's waiting staff. From a coffee with friends to a formal work lunch, Corvina's staff ensure you are looked after. Any questions will be happily addressed, from an elaboration on a dish to a recommendation on a wine. They're a great bunch of people with varied interests and backgrounds, who all share the same dedication to service.

While the allure of Corvina is a mixture of the above factors, there is one final, ingredient that really sets Corvina apart. The wine. On Corvina's 12 page wine list, you'll find everything from Barbera to Zinfandel, Semillon to Soave. Wines from Italy, America, Germany, New Zealand, France and Australia all feature. There are also at least 20 wines available by the glass. The list is constantly changing, as new wines come and old ones go. Some favourites remain, but you'll always find something new and exciting. Prices are lower than average and range from $25 to $2000 a bottle.

Corvina's staff will happily discuss the wine list, and if needed recommend a wine to suit your meal and price range. In a street and suburb famous for its restaurants and cafes, Corvina takes its place with ease. It's the place to go to when you want fabulous food, fantastic wine and dazzling service in a sultry, welcoming environment. Or it's the place to go when you want great coffee - decaf, soy, double decaf soy - informal, friendly service and sunny outdoor seating.
